Barbers No1 is one of the UK’s fastest-growing and most well-established barber chains. With the growing demand for skilled barbers in the expanding industry, we launched Barbers No1 Academy (Est. 2018) to provide high-quality training for the next generation of barbers.

Our training facility is designed to replicate a real barbershop environment, offering a hands-on experience that prepares you for the industry. We provide modern, tailored training that equips you with the practical skills and knowledge needed to succeed.

Our courses are developed and delivered by experienced professionals who bring extensive industry expertise. They are dedicated to ensuring that you receive the best education and support throughout your journey.

At Barbers No1 Academy, we are committed to your career success and look forward to helping you achieve your barbering qualification and launch your career.

• Full-Time Course: 9 weeks, Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Evening Course: 24 weeks, two evenings per week, 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM
• Weekend Course: 24 weeks, Saturday & Sunday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

You may qualify for our funded Level 2 Barbering course if you meet the following criteria:

• Aged 19 or over
• Reside in Merseyside
• Receive Universal Credit or earn less than £31,000 per year

Our private courses are open to everyone.

The cost for each course is £2,500, which includes:

At Barbers No1, we prioritise our students' careers. Along with our outstanding Ofsted-rated academy, we offer job opportunities upon course completion. Students gain valuable experience through weekly work placements at our 12 Barbers No1 locations and a full 2-week placement at the end of their course. We have a 50-60% success rate of offering full-time positions to our graduates.

Yes, upon successful completion of the course, you will receive aVTCT NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Barbering, which is a nationally recognized qualification in the industry. This certification will enable you to work as a professional barber in the UK and beyond.

The course runs for14 weeks, providing a comprehensive balance of theory and practical learning to ensure you develop the skills needed to excel in barbering.

We provide students with a training mannequin (doll’s head) for practice, and there will be plenty of opportunities to work on real clients within the class. However, bringing in your own models will give you additional experience and help build your confidence in working with different hair types and styles.

No, we provide all the necessary equipment for the course. However, if you already have your own tools and prefer to use them, you are more than welcome to bring them along.
